You may have appreciated the beauty or the architecture of a lamp post. But have you ever appreciated a lamp post, especially an ugly looking one, because it holds the lamp that enlightens our paths during darkness. At night, for the illumination, we may have appreciated the lamp, sitting on it. But we may have never even thought to appreciate the work the lamp post does. And during the day, when light is surrounding us, we fail to even acknowledge the existence of the lamp post.

We humans may be like the lamp post. The lamp that illuminates the world, is the good work that we do. That may never be forgotten. But people who propounded that thought or gave this world some unique knowledge/thing, receives comparatively lesser acknowledgement than their own good work.

Nevertheless, the good work should continue. Continue to illuminate this world.
